Hobby UV Vital LED 3W

The Hobby UV Vital LED 3W is a compact screw-in lamp that delivers bright light, UV-A and UV-B from one bulb, making it a good fit for smaller terrariums. UV-B lets reptiles make vitamin D3, which they need to use calcium properly. LED technology keeps power use very low and gives off little heat, and the ratio of UV-B output to power consumption is well balanced. It fits any standard E27 socket and needs no separate ballast. Setting it up correctly

Because this LED gives off very little heat, pair it with a separate basking lamp or heat source for reptiles that need warmth. Its 30° beam is fairly narrow, so aim it at the basking or resting area where your animal actually spends time. Glass and most plastics block UVB, so mount the lamp with nothing but open air or a light mesh between it and the animal, and remember that mesh also reduces output. Run it on a timer for a steady day length, and replace it once it reaches its rated life, as UV output fades before the visible light does.

UV-B does not pass through glass or most plastics, so position the lamp with a clear path to your animal and replace it at the end of its rated life.
