Before you hang the light

Hanging a light leaves the top of the tank clear for feeding and maintenance and suits open-top and rimless aquariums. Check that your unit belongs to the Blaze X series, and allow one pair of wires for each light. Choose fixings that match your ceiling, such as plasterboard or concrete, or mount a sturdy bracket instead, and route the power cable with a drip loop so water cannot run down it into the socket.

Good to know

Fix the ceiling or bracket points securely before hanging the light, set both wires to the same length so it hangs level, and check the hardware from time to time.
