JBL Clynol is a mineral-based water clarifier that binds particles too fine for the filter to hold, leaving crystal-clear water. It also binds heavy metals, ammonium, proteins and odours, and can be used in both freshwater and saltwater aquariums, including tanks with shrimp.

Dosing and how long it lasts
JBL’s dose is 10ml for every 40 litres of aquarium water, added once a week, so a 60-litre tank takes 15ml and a 120-litre tank 30ml. At that rate the 250ml bottle treats 1,000 litres in total, which is about ten weekly doses for a 100-litre aquarium. Because it works by binding the fine particles that cause the haze so your filter can trap them, keep the filter running while you use it. If cloudiness keeps coming back, check for overfeeding or an undersized filter, as a clarifier treats the symptom rather than the cause. A 500ml bottle is also made for larger tanks.
