JBL ProCristal UV-C Compact Plus 11W

JBL ProCristal UV-C Compact Plus 11W is a UV-C clarifier that clears green and whitish cloudiness in freshwater and marine aquariums. It connects to an external filter, with the inlet and outlet positioned for a tidy, space-saving installation. As the water passes the 11 W bulb, the germ-killing UV-C light reduces floating algae and free-floating germs without changing your water values or harming the beneficial bacteria living in the filter. A safety switch turns the bulb off automatically if the unit is opened, and the UV-resistant casing has a two-glass-cylinder design. It is TÜV tested.

Installing it well

The unit has hose connections for 16-19mm hoses and needs at least 42cm of space, so check both before buying. Fit it on the outflow side of your external filter, where cleaner water passes through it. Switch it off while using medicines or bacterial starters, and replace the bulb about once a year, as UV-C output fades.

Good to know

Never look directly at a lit UV-C bulb, and disconnect the power before opening the unit or changing the bulb.
