JBL ProFlora CO2 Basic Set M

JBL ProFlora CO2 Basic Set M is a complete CO2 fertiliser system for planted freshwater aquariums of 40 to 300 litres. CO2 is the main nutrient plants take from the water, and a steady supply helps them grow strongly. Assembly takes only a few steps: fit the pressure reducer to the cylinder, run the hose via the bubble counter and check valve to the diffuser, then set the bubble rate. Screw fittings hold the hose securely, while the check valve stops water running back into the cylinder. An included permanent CO2/pH test shows whether the level is right.

Getting started

The set is designed for freshwater tanks of 40 to 300 litres, not marine aquariums. Mount the 500 g cylinder upright with the wall bracket supplied, start with a low bubble count and raise it gradually over several days while watching the colour of the permanent test, rather than setting a high rate straight away. When the cylinder is empty it can be refilled instead of replaced.

Good to know

Keep the cylinder away from heat sources and direct sunlight. Check the permanent test regularly and adjust the bubble count whenever the colour shows the CO2 level has drifted.
