JBL Proflora Direct 12/16

The JBL ProFlora Direct 12/16 is a CO2 diffuser that fits into the outlet hose of an external filter with 12/16mm tubing. CO2 is dissolved straight into the water flow, so it is distributed evenly through the tank without a visible diffuser inside the aquarium. It suits aquariums of about 40 to 300 litres.

Setting it up

Before first use, soak the diffuser’s ceramic membrane in water for 24 hours, otherwise it will produce large bubbles instead of fine ones. Mount the holder inside the cabinet with its screws or suction cups, then cut the filter’s outlet hose as close to the filter as practical and fit the diffuser into it, ideally upright so the bubble counter is easy to read. Fill the bubble counter with water, connect proper CO2 hose, and set your regulator to a working pressure of about 1.0 to 1.5 bar before adjusting the bubble rate.
