Choosing and fitting the right shaft

Two versions are listed: one shared by the Eccoflow 600 and 1000 pumps, and one for the Eccoflow 1500, so read the model on your pump before ordering. A worn shaft usually shows itself as rattling or grinding noise, or an impeller that turns unevenly or stops. When fitting, pull out the impeller, clean any slime or limescale from the impeller chamber, and seat the new shaft with a rubber bush at each end so it sits centred. Handle the impeller magnet gently, and keep the second shaft from the pack as a spare.

Good to know

Unplug the pump before replacing the shaft, and handle ceramic shafts carefully as they can break if dropped.
