Komodo Moonlight Night-Time Reptile Heat Bulb, ES (E27) – 75 W

The Komodo Moonlight bulb recreates the soft glow of moonlight while also warming the enclosure, so you can watch nocturnal reptiles and amphibians at night without disturbing their natural behaviour. The dark blue glass gives a gentle, low-level light, and around 90% of the bulb’s power is emitted as heat, making it a practical night-time heat source. It fits any standard ES (E27) fitting and comes in 50, 75 and 100 W.

Choosing the wattage

Three wattages are listed: 50 W, 75 W and 100 W. Choose the lowest wattage that holds your species’ night-time minimum temperature in your enclosure, as larger enclosures and cooler rooms need more heat, while small vivariums can overheat with a high-wattage bulb. Measure night temperatures with a digital thermometer at animal level for a few nights after fitting, and adjust the thermostat as needed.

Good to know

Use the bulb in a ceramic-socket dome fixture rated for its wattage, out of your reptile’s reach, and control it with a suitable thermostat such as a dimming thermostat. Switch off and let the bulb cool before handling it.
