Choosing a size and feeding

The sticks come in 100ml, 250ml, 500ml and 1L tubs. The small tubs suit a single hatchling or young turtle and stay fresh until used up, while the 500ml and 1L sizes are better for adult turtles or several animals. Young turtles generally eat every day, while adults usually need feeding less often, every day or two, depending on species and size. Offer only as much as your turtle eats within a few minutes, and lift out leftovers so they do not foul the water; some keepers feed in a separate tub of water for a cleaner tank. Many turtles also need fresh leafy greens or other foods for variety, depending on the species. Strong shells depend on more than diet, so provide good UVB lighting and a dry basking area as well. Keep the lid tightly closed and store the tub somewhere cool and dry.
