How to use it

Snails are most active at night, so set the trap in the evening after the lights go off. Put a little of the supplied fish food, or a slice of blanched courgette, inside as bait, then place it on the substrate where you see snails gathering, using the suction cup to hold it in position. Leave it overnight and lift it out in the morning with the 1.5m rope, so you do not need to put your hands in the tank. Repeat for several nights until numbers drop. Small shrimp may also wander in, so check the trap before emptying it. Snail booms are usually fuelled by excess food, so feed smaller portions and remove leftovers to stop the population returning.
