Using it in a layout

Choose Small for nano tanks or as accent pieces, and Medium when you want the branches to form the main structure of the layout. The fine twigs are ideal for tying on moss, Java fern or Anubias with cotton thread or fixing them with aquarium-safe glue, and shrimp graze the biofilm that forms on the branches. Boiling the wood or weighing it down speeds up sinking. A soft white film sometimes appears on new wood in the first weeks; it is harmless, and shrimp and snails usually clear it.

Good to know

Soak new wood before use until it sinks, and expect some tannins to tint the water at first; regular partial water changes and activated carbon will clear it.
