Precision pressure reducer for external valve

A pressure reducer is required for reducing the pressure within the CO2 bottle (approx. 50 – 60 bar/725 – 871.2 p.s.i.) to a pressure that allows supplying the aquarium (0.1 – 2.5 bar/1.45 – 36.3 p.s.i.).

The sera flore CO2 pressure reducer with integrated fine adjustment valve is made in Germany and reliably and safely reduces the gas pressure. It can be connected to all common CO2 bottles with external valve.

Building a CO2 system

First check your cylinder: this regulator fits common CO2 bottles with an external valve, not disposable cylinders with a built-in valve. A complete system also needs CO2-resistant tubing, a non-return valve, a bubble counter and a diffuser or reactor, plus a solenoid valve if you want the gas to switch off at night. Fit the reducer with the cylinder valve closed, open it slowly, then use the fine adjustment valve to set a modest bubble rate and increase it gradually while watching your fish. Brush soapy water over the joints to check for leaks, and keep the cylinder upright and secured so it cannot fall.
