Using a high-velocity dryer

A force dryer like this blows water out of the coat rather than simply warming it, which is why it suits double-coated and long-haired dogs that take ages to dry with a towel. Check which model you are getting: the DHD-3000F has an extra heating unit and dries faster than the DHD-2400F, which is useful in colder weather, while the two motors give strong airflow on both. Towel off excess water first, start on the lowest setting and hold the nozzle a little away from the coat, beginning at the rear legs and working forward. Keep the airflow away from the eyes, ears and face, and use the narrow nozzle to push out loose undercoat once the dog is relaxed.
