Choosing and changing the lamp
Two wattages are listed, 9W and 13W, and each matches the Sicce UV-C Clarifier of the same rating, so read the wattage on your clarifier before ordering. A UV-C lamp can still glow while its useful output has faded, so do not judge it by brightness; many keepers simply change it once a year or at the start of the warm season. When fitting, hold the lamp by its base and avoid touching the glass, as skin oils can reduce output. Clean the quartz sleeve at the same time, because deposits on it block the UV light.
