Waterbox Activated Carbon Media for Saltwater Aquariums – 500 ml

Waterbox Carbon Media is activated carbon that removes discolouration, odours, general contaminants, coral toxins and dissolved organics from aquarium water. Use 100 ml of media for every 100 litres (25 gallons) and rinse it with RO/DI water before use; for the best results, replace it once a month.

Getting the best from carbon

At the recommended dose of 100 ml per 100 litres, this 500 ml tub treats up to 500 litres for one monthly change, or lasts a 100 litre tank around five months. Put the carbon where water flows through it rather than around it, such as in a reactor or a fine media bag in a high-flow area. Carbon also removes many medications, so take it out while treating fish and replace it once the course is finished. On reef tanks, some keepers start with a smaller amount to avoid a sudden change in water clarity.

Place the media in a media bag, canister or reactor where water flows through it, and replace it as directed. Keep unused media sealed in its container.
