API Pimafix – 8oz

API Pimafix is a natural remedy for fungal infections in aquarium fish, made with an extract of the West Indian bay tree. It is used for cottony growths, mouth and body fungus and reddening of the fins and body, and it also helps with internal and external bacterial infections. It does not harm the biological filter, change pH or discolour the water, and it is designed to be used alongside API Melafix when you want a broader treatment against common fish diseases.

Choosing a bottle size

API’s dose of 5ml per 10 US gallons (38 litres) daily for seven days means a full course uses about 3.5ml per US gallon of tank water. As a guide, the 4oz bottle covers one course for a tank of roughly 125 litres, the 8oz around 250 litres and the 16oz around 500 litres. Shake the bottle before dosing and remove activated carbon from the filter during treatment, as it takes the remedy out of the water. It can be used in saltwater as well as freshwater; in marine tanks, switch off the protein skimmer and UV steriliser while treating. Follow the label or your vet’s advice.
