The Dymax Specex Flora Light Science is a compact LED light for planted aquariums. It combines full-spectrum white light with key RGB wavelengths to drive photosynthesis and healthy plant growth while bringing out the colour of the plants. The balanced output also shows fish and the whole aquascape in natural tones. You can choose the light intensity and adjust the spectrum, and a night light option adds a soft glow after dark. A convective heat-exchange design helps keep the unit cool during long photoperiods.

Who it suits and setting up

With a compact 15cm square body and 48 LEDs (15 white, 15 green, 12 red and 6 blue), this light concentrates its output over a small area, which suits nano and small planted tanks or one area of a larger layout. A stand is included, so it can sit over an open-top aquarium, and the 3m cable gives plenty of reach to a socket. The power supply accepts 100 to 240V, and the 24-hour smart control lets you set a regular daily light schedule.
