When to replace the primer
Replace the primer when the button sticks, cracks, leaks around its base or no longer draws water into the canister, as a faulty primer makes restarting the filter after cleaning difficult. The assembly suits the Fluval 107, 207, 307 and 407 (models A440, A443, A446 and A449), so check the label on your canister before ordering. After fitting, pump the primer several times until water flows steadily into the canister, then plug in the filter. Keep the primer and its seat free of grit at each service.
