Using cork in the terrarium

Cork is light, so even a long branch can be wedged between the walls or fixed with terrarium silicone without putting much weight on the glass, and it resists rot well in humid set-ups. Its rough surface gives a secure grip for arboreal geckos, chameleons, tree frogs and other climbers, and it is a natural base for mounting epiphytes such as tillandsias, mosses and small orchids. Run branches diagonally from the floor towards the upper corners to create climbing routes at different heights, and measure the inside of your terrarium first, as each piece’s length and shape vary. Clean it with hot water and a stiff brush rather than chemicals.
