Setting up a basking spot
The narrow 12° beam creates a small, intense hot spot, which suits a single basking rock or branch rather than warming a wide area. Adjust the height of the lamp and check the surface temperature at the basking point with a thermometer, ideally an infrared one, until it matches your species’ needs. Leave the rest of the enclosure cooler so your reptile can move between warm and cool zones.
