Key features of the Indian Stone Aquarium Pebbles / Stones / Rocks / Gravel

  • Natural Indian stone
  • Smooth, polished pebbles
  • Mixed natural colours
  • 25kg
  • For aquariums and decoration

How to use

Rinse the pebbles thoroughly in a bucket until the water runs clear, then arrange them across the bottom of the aquarium or use them to create features and borders. Fill the tank slowly to avoid disturbing the layout.

Care

Siphon debris from between the pebbles during water changes. Some natural stones can gradually raise water hardness, so test your water regularly, especially with sensitive species.

Choosing and preparing stones

Each 25 kg bag holds one style of stone, coded PS1, PS2, P1, P2, P17 or BIGROCK2, so compare the product photos to choose the shape and size you want; BIGROCK2 is the option for larger feature rocks. The stones are natural and undyed, in oval, round and irregular shapes, and the paler grades are not pure white, with some light grey or yellow mixed in. Rinse them in a bucket until the water runs clear before use. Place large rocks directly on the glass, ideally on a sheet of egg-crate or foam, and pour any finer gravel around them afterwards so they cannot shift and crack the base. Because some natural stones can slowly raise water hardness, test pH and hardness for the first few weeks if you keep soft-water fish or shrimp; vinegar fizzing on a stone is a sign that it contains lime. Siphon debris from between the stones during regular water changes to keep them looking clean.
