Fitting steps

JBL advises always replacing the impeller together with its shaft and bearings, which is why everything comes as one complete set, so check that your filter head says e1501 before ordering. To fit it, remove the filter head, open the bayonet catch on the impeller cover and take out the old impeller with its shaft and bearings. Use the supplied pulling aid to free any bearing that is stuck deep in the housing, then seat the new parts and close the cover. If the flow is still weak afterwards, check the hoses and intake for blockages.

Good to know

Unplug the filter before servicing, clean the impeller chamber when fitting the new parts, and check the impeller whenever flow drops or noise increases.
