Swapping the impeller

With the filter unplugged, remove the filter head, open the bayonet catch on the impeller cover and lift out the old impeller with its shaft and bearings. JBL is clear that all three must be renewed together, which is why the kit includes the complete set. Use the pulling aid supplied to extract a stubborn bearing from the bottom of the chamber, then fit the new parts, close the cover and restart the filter. Check that the model name on your filter head reads e901 before ordering, as other CristalProfi sizes take their own kits.

Good to know

Unplug the filter before servicing, clean the impeller chamber when fitting the new parts, and check the impeller whenever flow drops or noise increases.
