JBL ProTemp S 300W UK-plug

JBL ProTemp S 300W is a powerful heater-thermostat for larger aquariums of 160 to 400 litres, supplied with a UK plug. You preset the temperature on a dial between 20 and 34°C, and the control keeps it within about 0.5°C. A ceramic heating element with a star-shaped cross-section transfers the heat efficiently into the water. The heater body is made of unbreakable quartz safety glass and comes with a protective basket that keeps fish from touching it. Watertight to a depth of 100 cm, it also has dry-running protection against electrical accidents and is TÜV tested.

Fitting and using it safely

JBL rates this heater for aquariums of 160-400 litres, about 100-120cm long. Place it near the filter outflow, where moving water carries the heat around the tank, and set it at a slight angle within its protective basket. It has a standard UK three-pin plug. Even with its dry-running protection, unplug it before water changes and wait for it to cool before lifting it out. For large tanks at the top of the range in cool rooms, two smaller heaters can share the load and give a back-up if one fails. Check the actual temperature with a separate thermometer after setting the dial.

Good to know

To fit it, place the heater in the protective basket, preset the dial, lower it into the aquarium and fix it to the inside of the glass with the suction cups.
