Cleaning and replacement routine

Before ordering, confirm the filter model on its rating label, as this block is cut for the CristalProfi e1500 basket. A good routine is to clean the foam whenever the outflow slows noticeably: squeeze it a few times in a bucket of water taken from the aquarium, then refit it in the same position. When the foam tears, crumbles or stays flat after squeezing, swap in the new block, but avoid replacing all the filter media on the same day; spreading changes over a few weeks keeps the bacterial colony intact. Keep the spare sealed in its packaging until needed.
