Before you install

This version is made to be fed directly from an RO or RODI unit, so you will need a working RO system with a supply line that reaches your sump. Fix the optical sensor in the sump section where the level drops as water evaporates, and set the float sensor slightly above it as the overflow backup. Test it by lowering the water a little and watching it refill. Because evaporation leaves salt behind, steady top-ups with fresh RO water help keep reef salinity stable.

Mount the sensors at your target water level away from strong surface flow, and check the RO supply and tubing regularly so the system can top up reliably.
