Fitting and using them

These ABS blades are made for the Maxspect Refine Standard magnetic scraper, which suits panels 9 to 15mm thick; the larger Grande version takes its own blades. Maxspect reserves plastic blades for acrylic tanks, while its stainless steel blades are for glass only. On an acrylic aquarium, remove the scraper’s zero-friction gliding feet before use, as Maxspect advises, and keep the blade well clear of the substrate so no sand gets trapped under it. With five blades in the pack, you have spares to hand for a long time.

Good to know

Use plastic blades on acrylic tanks, keep sand away from the blade edge, and swap to a new blade as soon as it becomes nicked.
