Training on the teeter

Because the plank moves, the teeter is usually taught after the other contact obstacles. Start by letting your dog touch the end of the plank from the ground and rewarding it for pushing the board down, so the bang of the plank hitting the ground becomes something it expects. Then hold the plank to slow its descent while your dog walks up, gradually letting it tip on its own. Teach a clear stop at the end of the board so your dog waits for it to settle before getting off. The two-part design makes it easier to transport and store between sessions.
