Setting up the lamps

You will need two E27 dome fixtures rated for the bulbs, ideally side by side over the warm end, so your reptile receives UVB while it basks. UVB is blocked by glass and most plastics, so mount the UVB lamp above a mesh top or inside the enclosure rather than over a glass lid. Measure the basking temperature with a thermometer at the spot your reptile lies, and use a thermostat or dimmer on the heat bulb to keep it steady.

Good to know

Fit the lamp over the basking area at the distance given on the pack, run it on a 10 to 12 hour daytime cycle and replace it when the pack advises, as UVB output fades before the visible light does.
