Who it suits

This bulb suits small tropical and forest species, such as crested geckos and other small arboreal lizards, as well as juveniles in compact enclosures. Desert species like bearded dragons need stronger UVB than a 5.0 lamp provides. UVB does not pass through glass or most plastics, so mount the lamp above a mesh top or inside the enclosure. Provide plenty of shaded areas and hides so your reptile can move in and out of the UV as it chooses.

Good to know

Fit the lamp over the basking area at the distance given on the pack, run it on a 10 to 12 hour daytime cycle and replace it when the pack advises, as UVB output fades before the visible light does.
