Running day and night bulbs

Fit the two bulbs in separate domes so each can run on its own schedule: put the daylight basking bulb on a timer for 10 to 12 hours, and connect the infrared bulb to a thermostat so it only comes on if night temperatures fall below what your species needs. Many species are comfortable with a cooler night, so check the minimum for your animal before running night heat constantly.
