Choosing a dome size

Two sizes are available: the 5.5 in dome measures 14 x 14 x 19.5 cm and takes bulbs up to 100 W for smaller enclosures, while the 8.5 in dome measures 21.5 x 21.5 x 16.5 cm and takes up to 150 W for larger habitats. Position the temperature sensor as the instructions describe, at the spot your animal actually basks. The dimming thermostat is meant for heat bulbs that can be dimmed, not mercury vapour or fluorescent UVB lamps.

Good to know

Set the target temperature on the controller, check the basking spot with a separate thermometer and use bulbs only up to the stated maximum wattage. Unplug and let the fixture cool before changing a bulb.
