Choosing tube length and fixture

Pick the tube to suit your terrarium: the 8 W tube is 28.8 cm long for small to medium enclosures, while the 24 W tube is 54.9 cm long for larger terrariums. As a rule of thumb, the lamp should cover about half to two-thirds of the enclosure’s length, creating a lit zone and a shaded zone. T5 tubes must be run on a fixture made for the same wattage, so check your fitting before ordering. Mesh screens absorb part of the UVB, so allow for this when setting the mounting height.
