Dosing and plant tips
Seachem’s directions are one 5 mL capful per 40 L when setting up a tank or after a water change of more than 40%, then one capful per 200 L daily or every other day. Each thread inside the cap measures about 1 mL, which helps with smaller doses. If you keep Anacharis, dose every other day rather than daily, as it is a sensitive plant. Excel stays active for up to 24 hours, so the time of day you dose is not critical, and it does not interfere with airstones or surface agitation. The 2 L bottle suits large planted tanks or keepers dosing several aquariums.

Some plants, such as Vallisneria, can be sensitive to Excel, so start at the recommended dose and watch how plants respond.
