What the #5FW blade does

The #5F is a finishing blade that leaves roughly 6.3mm, about a quarter of an inch, of coat for a soft, even body trim, and the W means it is a wide blade that covers more ground with each stroke. That makes it useful on larger dogs and on livestock such as goats, sheep and horses, where speed matters. Before ordering, check that your clipper is one of the listed compatible models: AG, AGC, DBLC, MBG, SMC or RDLC. A ceramic cutter is very hard but can chip if dropped on a hard floor, so change blades over a towel. Brush out hair after each groom, add a few drops of blade oil, and use a blade coolant on long jobs.
