Waterbox Calcium Reef Supplement – 500 ml

Waterbox Calcium is a liquid supplement for keeping calcium at the right level in reef aquariums. Calcium is an essential building block for coral skeletons, invertebrates and coralline algae, and without enough of it LPS and SPS corals cannot build their calcium carbonate skeletons. Waterbox recommends 420 to 460 ppm; each 5 ml raises calcium by 7.5 mg/l in 100 litres (25 gallons).

Working out a dose

Use the label figures to plan: in a 300 L system, 5 ml raises calcium by about 2.5 ppm, so lifting it from 400 to 420 ppm would take roughly 40 ml, best split over several days. Measure your system’s true water volume, including the sump, and test again after each dose. Calcium, alkalinity and magnesium work together, so check all three whenever you test.

Good to know

Test your water before dosing, add the supplement to a high-flow area and adjust gradually, never raising levels quickly. Keep the bottle closed, out of reach of children and away from direct sunlight.
